Cycads

I was familiar with cycads - a.k.a. "Sago Palms" - but was lucky enough to have some in the yard when I bought this place in NC.

Not too surprisingly, I treated them with Kelpak and they started to "pup". The larger one, now identified as a female, was 3' tall with 1 pup at its base. The smaller, male one was about 18" tall and was a "singleton".

Fast forward 7 years. The female, coming into bloom now, has 5 pups and is about 6' tall, while the male, also about to bloom, but with 2 cones this time, has 3 and is about 4' tall.
