This is one of the original plants that went into the bog almost 6 years ago, and it really hit its stride this year. It has my favorite fragrance of any North American species I've encountered, and from 30' away it's heavenly. Plus it's considered endangered by PA, since it's a coastal plain species, and PA never had much of that to begin with

This is one of my favorite rhodies and I have about 60 of them, including a bunch of deciduous azaleas. The fragrance is incredible and the fall color is great too. Does very well for my in part sun / part shade.

Thanks for sharing!

One of the things I miss about San Francisco and Seattle is spring Rhododendron season. Strybing Arboretum in Golden Gate Park has a large collection of huge, old plants.

I used to live literally right across the street from Friends Hospital in Philadelphia, which was famous for its collection. They held events there every year, but I believe it's all gone now.
