what to do with stinky semi-hydro spider bro plant?

Hi:
In 2020 I accidentally knocked a tiny 1/2" pup off my bedroom air-cleansing spider plant. I stuck the pup into a 1.5" pot filled with leca/hydroton, and put it into a cute but horribly impractical batman mug (the ears poke into my face). Didn't make the two holes, do any distilled or physan rinsing maintenance the influencers suggest when doing semi-hydro. It grew out like hair, and it's been the centerpiece of my living room coffee table

Watered it about once a week with foliage pro. Now 3.5 years later, we have this semi-monstrosity. It's doing fine and I'm super happy with it, but on arriving home after a week-long conference, my entire room smells of mold and I've honed in on this plant... it reeks. Up close, the smell is like a mixture of mold and poo.

Some options:
1. Do nothing and deal with the smell (oh god it's horrible no thank you)
2. Try rinsing with diluted hydrogen peroxide or physan
3. Leave it alone but take this outside, since I'm in so cal
4. repot into a larger container, and this time do the semi-hydro "correctly" with holes and rinse it on a regular basis
5. repot into potting soil
6. Give it away
7. other suggestions?

BTW, it looks a little yellow in the photos, that's due to morning light and camera color cast. The leaves are a pleasant, mild green.

I’d do 4 or 5. Leaving it as is and trying to “fix” the problem won’t solve the problem, it’ll be a bandaid.

I've been looking around the house to find a replacement container to do #4, just striking out: don't want glass (mason or other canning jars) because I've got one and the algae is annoying, 28oz tomato can seems small and would probably rust, I have some clay pots but they get all the salt buildups, yogurt tubs are ugly, hmmm.

Found a couple protein containers that I was saving to do kratky greens experiments over the winter. And done. I had a second one in a mason jar, also repotted, had to break the jar. They are kind of ugly and I couldn't get the label glue completely off no matter scrubbing, hot water, mineral spirits, etc. I might just paint them or something later. Pics for your amusement.

Ahh.. I'm wondering if I should've put some weed cloth at the level of the drainage to keep roots from going all to the way to the bottom. I've been doing that for my sip buckets.

Hmm, oh well, too late.

Maybe for my next semi-hydro, I forget how easy this method is.
