Seeing advertisements w/new iPad
I finally replaced my old iPad Mini with a new iPad. I never saw advertising with the mini but am seeing them with the new unit. My settings for OB shouldn’t have changed, any ideas what did?

It’s likely that your older device didn’t support the plug-ins that run the adds but your new device does.

I think there were some changes in the OB, too.
I typically "wake up" with a cup of coffee and reading orchid forums on my iPad. Over the last, relatively short while, the ads became entirely too intrusive, so I now only visit here on my PC, using Chrome with a great ad blocker (the iPad version doesn't have one, I've found, that does any good).

I've wondered about this, too. Since I joined OB, I have almost exclusively used a desktop PC to visit. The only ads I see are small, non-intrusive ones from the OB itself, like becoming a forum sponsor.
I recently got a brand-new laptop and was appalled to see what the site looked like on that. There are intrusive ads on both sides of the screen, and I think top and bottom as well. It's not worth ever trying to visit from there. I'll stick to my PC. I never use my phone to visit the site, so cannot speak to that experience.
PS: My desktop runs Windows 10, and my new laptop runs Windows 11, so I don't know if that has something to do with it?
PPS: I guess it's also possible I don't have an ad blocker turned on in the laptop. I'll have to look into that.

Same here. Same PC from 2013, running Windows 8.1 Nothing changed on my end. Now the weird ads, sometimes in middle of first post, ads popping up when I go from one place to another. Definitely isn't something the admins (me and Camille) have done. Could be Marty, but who knows? Nothing we can do about it, except suffer with ya.

I use Chrome on my iPhone 14 almost exclusively and nothing has changed for me. I see the little add up at the top right and the add strip on the left side, but haven’t experienced any truly intrusive add pop ups yet. Hopefully it stays that way.

On the desktop, using Chrome, I installed the AdGuard extension, and it works like a charm.

Also, especially on a new machine, make sure that the link is going to https://orchidboard/community, not http://
