That's odd, DC. Mine are all about the same size or a little smaller as what's shown in the video. And alas, only a couple still hanging around now... south they go!

i have seen Caliopes down here which are teeeny and i believe i have seen bee hummers which are supposed to be only in cuba, but that's like 100 miles away so i believe i have. My parents are both avid birders and have rubbed a lot of the passion on to me. they are split about if what we saw was a bee hummer or a hummingbird moth.....i stand by my ID lol

but yeah, i see mostly little guys

I had to look up Calliope and bee hummers. Wow! Teeny tiny! And I'd say likely you have seen the bee hummers... 100 miles isn't much distance for any hummingbird. Learned something new today!
