Mounted Pinguicula

I grow these Mexican Pinguicula mounted on aragonitic limestone, to replicate how they grow in the wild:

So nice! I have some growing on a lava rock and doing well, but still young.

Is that a live rock (like that you use in saltwater aquaria)? Do you think texas holy rock or other type of limestone rock (like for a cichlid tank) would work?

Yes it it, or at least it was. I used to own a maintenance company, and it's left over from then. I don't see why holey rock wouldn't work, it will definitely wick water.

There are people who grow Mexican Pings in salad dishes with only water.

The rock is a piece of aragonite, which is fossilized coral reef. I would think it would be pretty easy to come by down there. When temps are reliably over 50°F at night it's outside where it gets full sun from about 8am until 1pm. When indoors its under very bright LED lighting.
