This spring was especially good for Epiphyllums. They seem to have enjoyed the wet winter and gloomy, cool spring.

I don't buy very many non-orchids, but could not resist Albuca spiralis, with its curly, twisty leaves. This one also appears to have enjoyed the odd weather, giving lots of growth and lots of flowers. It is very fragrant.

A species similar to the last one if your images is native here and they tend to start blooming with the first full moon after the first rains folowing the dry season, similar to dragonfruit. Sadly I seem to miss the blooms most of the time as they wilt upon getting sunshine.

This is the first time that one bloomed for me. I really, really like it! Very different. If it's s species, so much the better!

The white one with very thin petals might be Epiphyllum hookeri. If so the stems will be relatively thin side to side compared to many other Epi hybrids.

The Epis at my mom's house, about 20 miles from Roberta, were also spectacular this year.

One of the differences of that last one is that the growths tend to stay vertical (rather than being pendant like the floofy hybrids. ) The blooming growth is about 4 feet tall and still vertical.

My dad love collecting these, infact we grow dragonfruits in our side yard! They take abuse and nelgect better than my orchids but If only they last longer than a few days then I would have collect them too.

Roberta, I'm not sure which are showier, your Epiphyllums or your orchids. Very pretty!

Thanks! Nature gets a lot of the credit... Climate for so many things is paradise. (A local orchid friend puts it so well... "All we have to do is add water and subtract some sunlight.")
