In addition to my orchids, I hand-water some tomatoes, peppers, walking irises and a fig in my back yard.
A few years back, I purchased a Gardena retracting hose reel. It is delivered with about 60 feet of ~1/2” (a bit bigger) hose and quick connects. It seems to work very well and I’ve had no issues with it. Come winter, I just disconnect it, lift it off its pivoting wall mount, and stick it in the garage so it won’t freeze.
We have very costly water, thanks to a sewer afterthought project, so I have a second meter (with no sewer charge) for irrigation and boat cleaning. Because of that plumbing, the water runs from underground pipe through a 25’ x 3/4” hose to my irrigation spigot. Before getting to the Gardena hose, it goes through a large carbon filter to remove chloramine and other organics, but I still have plenty of pressure for the rain head and hose end sprayer for fertilizer and the like.
