My
Caladium World shipment arrived today from Lake Placid, Florida, where they were grown.
This is a USPS medium sized priority mail box. I ordered their
Fancy Leaf Mixed - Mixed Sizes 1/4 bushel box, a mix of all sized bulbs and all leaf colors. They say they just pack the box full, and it will contain 65-120 bulbs. As you can see above, it usually holds a lot more.
This was $63 plus shipping of just over $12 for $75 and change. They ship at the proper time for various temperature zones, so most of the country will not get their shipments for a while. There is still time to order this year. Caladium bulbs must remain warm or they rot, and they should not be planted where temperatures are under 65 F / 18C.
I have been a satisfied customer of theirs for many years. I order a box about every other year. They were wiped out by a hurricane a few years back, but have recovered.
It can be hard to see them, but there are links at the bottoms of their pages to very detailed growing information.
