In our area it is the Eastern Redbud.

I loved seeing the redbuds every year in college in NC. Around here it's the citrus that announces spring's arrival. The air is filled with heavy fragrance for weeks.

My area is blessed with Bluebirds and happily a small flock of Cedar Waxwings enjoyed the birdbath!

When I lived in the Central Valley it was almond blossoms. Then cherries right behind them!

The thieving red-winged blackbirds are back here in MI.
Always scaring the goldfinches away from the feeder. Not a fan.

But their song is one of the most complex I know. That and the western meadowlark.

For me, here, Spring is when the Houbara start courting. This YouTube video was recorded (not by me) in the field next to my house on the day I moved in, back in 2016.
