That would be great but I'm in Germany and it will be held in customs and that can take at least 4 weeks in my region. That is why I try to avoid buying internationaly. 😕

I hope you didn't import the cutting illegally.
Plant import laws can sometimes feel excessive but they're in place for a very good reason. Moving plants and plant materials around the world also has the potential to move pests and diseases to new areas. Non-native pests/diseases can quickly wipe out local species that didn't evolve with them. They can also do tremendous harm to the agricultural industry in your country. Import laws help minimize this by ensuring the plant materials coming in are as clean as possible.

No, of course not. I only buy locally. I wouldn't even try to import a plant. It is pretty strict here with importing.
I do know that some international shops ship with certificates but even then I wouldn't risk it because the customs are slow and it will just die.

Think again about Ecuagenera. If you order from Ecuagenera from Europe, they send a bulk shipment to Germany, repackage the orders and send them to the final buyer. The bulk shipment transits customs once. I have ordered like this in the US; most of the plants arrive quickly and very healthy.
From their Web site, Shows: Shipments to the United States and Europe will be made twice a month, in the case of the United States orders will be imported and shipped from Florida and in Europe from Germany. From the Shows page you can see in July they will be at a show in Germany, where they will deliver pre-orders: April 01-02, 2022
Pop up Currlim Orchideen Open House
Address: Currlin Orchideen, Seeweg 1, Ortstell Welbhausen, Uffenheim, 97215
Deadline for pre-orders: Orchid March 03, other tropical March 10. I have bought plants from them at orchid shows. The plants were generally quite healthy.

Ecuagenera took over Roelke Orchideen in Germany last fall so now have a fulltime EU location/presence.
Orchids | Ecuagenera Europe
I personally think it's a big shame, I much preferred the catalogue Roelke had (Very little Phal species/hybrids anymore).

Oh, how I wish I knew about them earlier. I will absolutely keep them in mind.
I believe she won't make it, the roots look very dark. 😔

Dark roots aren't necessarily a bad sign, the roots the plant had when you received it could be old, and old roots can take on a darker color for various reasons.
Even if the current roots die, the cutting may have enough stored energy to grow new ones. If the roots die, and the large leaf also dies back, but the base of the cutting remains in good shape, give it time. It may be rerouting the nutrients from the older growths into new ones.

Thank you for writing again Dimples. ❤
Unfortunately I think this was it, the roots are actually squishy and the cutting is turning more brown, kind of soft and wrinkled. 😔 I am hoping that by some miracle it pulls through but every day it looks worse and worse.
And thank you so much for your replies everyone! I very much appreciate it and that you share your experience. 💕

Hi again everyone. ❤
I wanted to post a quick update, in case anyone else is facing such a problem. I tried my very best to keep the rhizome alive. A lot of cinnamon was used! 😄 It was looking very bad, to the point that it started to turn black!
Even though all of it was squishy, I just kept it anyway. I started cutting out the very bad parts, that were leaking black! All of the roots on the single node were dead. I just kept only one, that seemed to be kind of firm. Good that I did because It pushed out a new root!
Now, the very young "node?!" is pushing out a root too. Just now I looked at the rhizome again, it is turning green and there is another bump forming next to that root!
This is amazing. I'm very happy that the poor thing is not giving up. ❤
