Default Trip to Keukenhof gardens, Netherlands

While my computer was out of commission (still not fixed btw) my family came to visit me in the Netherlands last week to help me haul my stuff back to Lyon. We went to Keukenhof gardens one day, since it was only 1 hour away from where I lived. It was breathtaking and completely The tulip fields were not quite in full bloom, which was a shame. These are the fields in my neighborhood and near Keukenhof.
There was also an orchid show at the gardens, but it was for new hybrid orchids. The leaf spread of the giant yellow Cym is over 2 meters!!
Since there are a lot of pictures, here's the link to my Webshots album.

Beautiful photos as well as scenery!
I am sure the photos can't compare to being there
but thanks for the trip to the gardens ..
I love the spans of different colors over large areas .. it calms the soul and feeds the heart ..
and I, also love the windmills and the orchids, of course

Camille
What an interesting trip that must have been. I put water in the microwave to make my morning tea and got so involved in your post that I forgot all about my tea until the water was cold.

Thanks for posting these. I was lost in Holland for a little while having a nice imaginary trip through the gardens.

Gorgeous photos, Camille, I'd love to go to Keukenhof myself. Around Spalding south of here there are lots of fields of tulips and narcissi grown for sale purposes, but no one does a bulb display like the Dutch. The orchids were lovely too. Do you know what the last one is, the one before the bromeliads in your album? I love the colour.

Regards
