I need to write these tips down! I started some in hydroton a couple years ago (since that one plant selfs so much, figured I could experiment some), but they were looking kind of dry so I broke down and transitioned them to soil after about a year. Now that I know about rockwool, it might be worth revisiting. It would be nice to be soil-less. Or do you recommend transitioning after they're more fully grown rather than as seedlings?
I have had the big, orange plant in S/H culture so long, I don’t remember how it was when I got it.
The three yellow-flowered ones were in ProMix when acquired, and I washed off the roots and stuck them directly into S/H, and they haven’t missed a beat.
My perception - right or wrong - is that clivias are far more flexible about media changes than are orchids.
