amazing musical contraption
This is totally mind-boggling!!
Read this first, then watch.
This is almost unbelievable.
See how all of the bal ls wind up in catcher cones.
This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between
the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School
of Engineering at the University Iowa . Amazingly, 97% of the
machines components cam e from John Deere Industries and Irrigation
Equipment of Bancroft , Iowa , yes farm equipment!
It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up , alignment,
calibration, and tuning before filming this video but as you can see
it was WELL worth the effort. It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard
Alumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated to
the Smithsonian.

OMG! That is just the most wonderful musical collaboration/experience!
I am absolutely stunned by the song and the kinetics and all the mechanical aspects involved that had to be coordinated. I LOVE it!!!
Renews my faith in mankind. . .and gives me hope.
Thanks Dave! As always I sure do enjoy your posts.

Zach (Narferman) said wow! I say wow! Just think of all the work that went into this over the years (I calculated nearly 4 1/2 years of 8 hour days 365 days a year.)

sorry to disappoint you but the only amazing thing here is the programmer After watching the video again, it looked to me a bit too perfect for a real video. So, I went to do some googling... and found this link Urban Legends Reference Pages: Farm Machine Music
another urban legend
