Mourning the loss of a great friend
As many of you know, one of the places that I have worked in the past was an organization that helped developmentally disabled folks live as close to a normal life as possible. I was a community work supervisor and I worked in state office buildings doing contract work by supervising the cleaning of their buildings. I was on the chat last night when I got the bad news that my former supervisor had been killed in an automobile accident, and his 5 year old son injured and in serious condition in a Memphis hospital. We have our orchid society meetings in one of the buildings of my former employers, thanks to him. I cannot begin to tell you what a loss this is, not only to his friends like myself, but more importantly, to the clients that he helped to serve. He thought that he could save them all, and made a damn good stab at doing just that. He even managed to get me to church recently, without the use of a firearm. (just kidding, folks) I was very proud of the fact that he had repeatedly told me, even years after I was no longer employed there that I was the best supervisor he ever had work for him. That meant a lot coming from him. Please say a prayer for my friend Billy and his son, Bill II. Thank you.
