Wonders of Mexico
Thought this was worth the effort to mention.
Switched on the television last night, trying to get a weather update on Elsa. Briefly scanned the band after catching a weather report, and was drawn into a program airing on PBS (Wonders of Mexico - Mountain Worlds). Glad I watched the program (a nice unexpected treat, per se).
About 16 minutes in, the Fat Mountains were discussed. They had a short segment about [I]Stanhopeas[/I and orchid bees. I definitely learned something new and interesting about both.
I've never grown Stanhopea orchids before... have only admired them. Did not realize how short-lived their flowers are. Really gives me a new appreciation for those whom grow Stanhopea, along with their dedication.
