Don't know, sure is attractive though. Is that a four leaf clover it is growing near it?
Well whatever you do make sure that you don't eat it!

The clover looks to be wood sorrel and you CAN eat that.

The mushroom I would not eat

Nope!

DC, I won't eat any of them. Can you imagine, on New Year's Eve serving clover soup or salad? I could add some Stanhopea leaves for a more exotic menu. hehe

"Wood sorrel" is a notorious nursery weed! Yes, you can eat it. It would fall under the category of "bitter greens." But, I can remember Busch's picking Red Sorrel out of the lawn for salad. Now it's gourmet...

I agree with the 'Don't eat it' crowd. I do know that if you let it mature it will drop spores and you will have more growing. Whether that's a good thing or not is your call.

HAHAHA, i LOVE the idea of a snooty café that has orchid salads


wood sorrel is a nice, bright lemony flavor and i use it on salads with a light salty dressing

butterfly sorrel (red sorrel) is a bit more lemony and has a really great pop when you put a pile on top of a grilled fish (small mangrove snapper, scored on the sides with a lot of pepper and sale then cooked HOT)

until you have to pull all of them out of your garden and lawn. Then they take on a new significance, not necessarily pleasant.

Indeed! I had a hard time trying to take them out of the basket where the Stan was. It seems I was not 100% successful in removing them.
