Well today I'll be dating myself.

I discovered some of my favorite old music has been digitized and is now on Amazon! It sounds better than ever, it must have been remixed too.

I love grocery pickup! And I love that my husband is picking those groceries up!

We are warm and safe and dry, the sun was shining today and I am very very grateful.

And I am grateful that little Guinness slept on the pillow next to me all last night. It's nice to be loved unconditionally.

Clearly I am very spoiled.

The doctors, nurses, and technology that saved an immediate family member, who finally returned home after nearly 100 days in the hospital due to covid.

I'm grateful for dogs again -- and always! The last time I posted, I still had one of my two dogs left, but shortly after that post, we had to say good-bye to her. We spent an agonizing month in a quiet and empty house, until we met Hunter, a dog who was with a local all-breed rescue group. He's smaller than I'm used to, around 40 pounds, and he looks a lot like a small chocolate Lab, but he's mixed with something else, which we suspect is Beagle. We needed a dog to share our home and our lives, and he needed a new forever family. I think we are all well-suited to one another.

For a few years, we had a bunch of meth heads inherit the house/acreage to our south. It was a very ugly time in the neighborhood. Granted, they were a couple of acres away, but still within sight. Ugh. They FINALLY got kicked out (property tax) and about a year ago the house was put up for sale.

It took almost a year before the buyers were able to get all the fixing up done (totally trashed house, and I do mean TOTALLY) and we didn't see them until this spring. They are an older sister with health/mobility issues and her younger sister, who is her helper. They are absolutely WONDERFUL and delightful folks. You cannot believe the gratitude and relief we feel having such great neighbors next door. I feel like a ten ton albatross has finally rotted off my neck. Oh! And they love animals, especially the horses. I'm grateful to be able to provide horse companionship to a former rider.

Now the sun is shining, though only for a day until cool weather and rain return, and I have time to get some more planting done outside. Grateful to have that opportunity to hold me over until spring actually comes to stay instead of occasionally visit.

Received the water lilies I got to replace all the ones that died during winter's abnormal low temps this year. They were stuck in USPS for eleven days during their three-day travel period. I'm grateful they were water lilies and not orchids, and they'll be just fine.

One of my beloved Standards had figured out how to get out of the corral and we couldn't figure out where. I'm so grateful to my husband for waiting in stealth mode for almost two hours to watch and see where the Houdini was escaping and fix the problem.

I am most grateful for the folks who provide me with social contact via text and email. It's still a very isolated time for me, and I don't see any end of it coming soon. They all make my day a little faster, more interesting, and keep the doldrums at bay.

With an amusing follow up...

So grateful for the gal who walks her dog through the woods to come pet the horses each day. Alerted us to a cow at far end of pasture sporting a plastic lawn chair necklace this afternoon. Cow has been told it isn’t his style, necklace removed.

I'm grateful for spring. I'm a tree hugger and I love flowering trees. Some couples drive around and look at Christmas lights. We drive around looking at flowering trees! "Oh look, that Magnolia is one of the "Little Girl' series! "

I'm grateful my perennials, azaleas, hydrangeas and even flowering tabacco made it through the winter.

I'm happy to have a coat of poly wax on my new smarter than me truck.

I'm amazed people love me. And I'm thankful for it all! " I know from whence my help comes."

Beauty! Hopefully we’ll get some here in our usual spot this year. It’s usually too dry. We once pulled 42 pounds in 2 hours at my dad’s place in Nebraska on the platte. Haven’t seen anything like that since. 😢
