I am a sucker for trying to revive house plants.
Bought a Magistic Palm at Lowes that was on sale for $7 but looked very droopy. has three fronds. They are not yellow or brown.

I depotted it to see the roots and of course it was very root bound. My shock was the size of the roots. slightly larger than ones of an oncidium. My instinct was to brake up the root ball, wanted to cut some of the excess but they are so fine, was not sure if that is wise.

Anyone have an indoor Magestic Palm? Sorry that is the name on the label. I think it is the type called the Raven///something

I have just bare rooted it, plan to use some kelp in water and some miracle grow fert. when I repot. prop it up with a stick in the dirt for suppost and use some good potting soil.

I am out of my league here. Anyone have some help for indoor palms?

Ravenala madagascariensis. In general never disrupt the rootball of any palm. Some tolerate it unhappily, and others die. Just drop it into a bigger pot and backfill. This palm requires quite a bit of light and prefers higher humidity than in most homes. Don't let it dry out.
