2 Hibiscus
1 Oleander
3 different Aloe
1 Tecoma
3 Brazilian Pepper trees

and a Red Banana - really excited about that!

It looks like I imagine Mars to look. The big black pile is scoria? SouthPark's favorite material? For better drainage?! It looks as though you could hardly keep that "soil" damp.

Oh yeah, I remember now from Voyager's pictures of it in his yard. That's a lot of tree planting all at once! Did you rob a nursery, or the neighbor's yard?

I won't even get into water until it's in the 80s.

what do you do with the surinam cherry? we have them and i think they are inedible- taste like motor oil and lysol but i have always wondered if they were useful

My guess is for the beauty of tree itself... folks don't normally eat wisteria either. Maybe birds like the fruit?

Eat them! I had 3 in my previous garden here and they were gorgeous! They are like a large shrubby bush rather than an actual tree - is that the same as you have?

It's the best time of year for planting here as it's a bit cooler and the humidity is quite high. My OH encourages me to go to the nursery to choose my Christmas and Birthday presents so I've just bought one lot and next week I collect the others. I much prefer plants/pots/substrate to clothes/perfume/art etc for gifts. Some of the stuff such as the aloes/hibiscus/oleander I have grown from seed or cuttings.
I forgot to add a Moringa to the planting list!
Today was necessary appointments and food shopping - tomorrow the planting starts in earnest!

And yes, the big pile is scoria!

Mine are bushes. Great hedges. The berries look like red tiny pumpkins. I’ve heard people make jelly but now I just avoid them.
