Yes, I love this plant (so do the damn Mealy bugs) I wish it had been looked after properly in the past. All the scars and injuries just makes the owner (ME) look bad.

Hi, As promised, some photos of the whole plant/s.

I have three very mature plants in various sizes goodness knows how old they are. The largest spanning about three feet.

Also in a pot, some very young plants growing from cuttings. As already mentioned, they are very easy to grow. (First Pic)

It is also very evident that they grow in a 'sprawling' manner, and this is because of them just being left to their own way. They ought really to have been grown in either a hanging basket or trained up a trellis of some sort, someone has already mentioned this.

I have a lot of admiration for these plants in spite of there obvious neglect, even the old wrinkly, spotted, dead looking leaves have new shoots and flowers along them.

Mine were much bigger but, they were full sized. I grew them from cuttings and it took them several years to flower. Patience. I remember I was told to run them cool and dry in the winter. Then, after a couple of years of sparse blooms, I lost heat in the greenhouse, and that was it. I don't have room on the sun porch for anything very large. I plan on keeping my German Princess as stunted as possible.

I'm sure these'll get bigger if looked after properly. I don't think they were ever fed or watered properly. Now that I have them.... they'll certainly do better. I won't even cut off any of the not-so-good looking parts.

I used to have a monster night blooming cereus. Like bottom of pot to top leaves five foot tall. Kept a tomato cage around it or it would have taken over the room. Strangest growth of any Epi I ever had. Blooms lasted one night. But oh my... when it bloomed, it was magnificent. Gave it away when my kids were toddlers. Darn kids take up a lot of space!

PS For smaller ones, I use a hanging bird cage. It helps keep them a bit more contained, and looks a lot nicer than a tomato cage.
