something that would help. Apparently, there is a plant that grows right in the same area as the stinging nettles that looks like a begonia. the thing is that you rub it over the affected area. This reminds me of a buddy of mine that likes to hike at a local park that is kind of off the beaten path. He showed up at the house one day when we were supposed to hike. He was wearing shorts! I asked him if he was crazy and he told me that he was not allergic to poison ivy. I would always wear long pants if I was going to do something like that, but, to each their own. In any case, we were walking along the riverbank and sure enough, we ran into a bunch of stinging nettles. Before it was all over, I thought he was going to jump in the Sangamon River! Apparently, the nettles cause of itching was the fact that it contains sulfuric acid (I believe) We had to pass through a field on the way back that had really long weeds and in the process of going through them, he lost the itch. To this day, he always wears long pants.
