i was doing some work in the side yard yesterday and this guy fell off the tree and almost hit me.


its massive and i see a few others of the same type are also falling around town ( they grow on the most ridiculously tiny branches)

here it is with my head for perspective

T. utriculata... one of Florida's natives (considered an endangered species). Long-lived plant that can get really big over time (with a very large inflorescence when flowering).

amazing! thanks! this one is super curious to me (and my incredibly limited knowledge LOL) bc it hold water like a tank (like a normal brom) as opposed to so many of the bulbous tillys that die if they hold water.
