so i had the light and the water and the dirt/leca setup wrong...LOL
at least i was in the right place hahaha

i had initially under estimated the light and over estimated the flow and coverage of the drip lines.
i had also tried to use these containers with plugs and the inner basket filled with LECA to promote a hydro res of sorts for the roots to go into....leca instantly clogged the drainage holes...many herbs drowned and many a sad song was sung....
presto change and the brighter herbs are up top - i added a few tomatoes for them to give a little more shade to the herbs and the rest are growing back in well..sweet basil, purple basil, Italian and curly parsley, culantro, assorted chives and scallions, sage, chocolate mint and sweet mint, and i think the thyme was toasted but it might have come back.
i ran these drip lines of the main and i am really running them as DRIP lines now...even on the top....basically each of the planters gets a line and 15 minutes of drip at 545 in the AM
