OK---I can tell my Stephen King story now that WW has spilled hers. I had wanted to use him so here's the story. It's frighteningly similar. (ha ha)
Wife and I both graduated from Maine schools, got married and lived a few more years in Maine. This would be like '72- '80. Wife worked in Portland with a good friend whose at the time boyfriends family owned a cottage on a lake outside Bridgton.
We were all hanging out up at the lake one weekend when our hosts parents said, "so we understand you guys have all been playing bridge together once in awhile. We have neighbors here we get together with occasionally, would you be interested? We all said sure. An hour later, Stephen and Tabitha walked in. Fun folks, we had a blast.
BTW WW---- His first novel of note, I believe was Salem's Lot and I still think it was his best work ever.
