The brown tips are when the leaves are on their way out, and this one seems to bloom just as the new growth is maturing. Now, if one gets a plant recently imported from South Africa, it's going to have its seasons confused so it might be doing things at other than the right time for its cycle. I strongly suspect that this one was grown starting from seed in the northern hemisphere. During the summer is when the leaves start to get those brown tips... reasonable, it comes from a climate that is more Mediterranean - hot dry summer, so that would be the time for dormancy, or at least slowing down, to save water. Now, mine still gets watered in the summer, so it probably responds by not going completely dormant.
