This study was originally published in the preprint database medRxiv on March 11, and now a revised version was published March 17 in The New England Journal of Medicine.

There is no way to know how long a virus can live on any surface without controlling the conditions and testing. Besides, a virus doesn't just show up out of nowhere. What vector brings it to your growing area?

That said, I am taking extra steps with First Rays' activities, like wearing gloves when opening inbound packages and disinfecting my workspace before all repackaging/packaging/shipping activities, which are also done gloved.

Products are also wiped down with bleach wipes before being sealed in pre-disinfected bags.

Nobody here is ill or has been exposed, but why not take those extra steps, just in case?

I just saw something on Apple news that they found the coronavirus on surfaces in the cabins of cruise ship surfaces after 17 days. There weren't very many but that is frightening. It was also before those surfaces were cleaned. That was the cruise ship that was stuck off of Japan for so long. I find it hard to believe.

Here 80% of the info about Covid is fake. There has been a lot of warning to the public about it because other 80% of the people take it as true.
Trust only official info released by specialists in the epidemics area and cientifically confirmed. Otherwise take it as if it doesn't exist.
As a side note, there is not enough validated info about this virus regarding almost everything.

This is creating caos and death so beware and don't go to the beach or walk in the park.

Just read a more detailed piece about the cruise ship. What they found was viral RNA, not intact virus, so it would not have been infectious. Anyway, wash your hands.
You are right rbarata about fake information. Unfortunately some of the fake information in the US is coming from our president.

I am organizing a group of volunteers in our county to make mask from the pattern my friend has perfected, using her sewing skills and my nursing/hospital experience. It is easy to make, I am urging anyone that can sew to help your community/county and to make mask for nursing homes and home health agencies. They are VERY back ordered in our county in NM and fast running out. Please folks this is going to go on for a long while and the need for cloth mask for non critical areas of health care will only increase as the patient count goes up. Acute care is always going to come first in the need for mask. Leaving the less acute, but no less vulnerable area of assisted living, care centers and home health and hospice organizions out in the cold. Help stop the spread, Help our Nurses, Doctors and other health care workers stay Safe.

First I want to say I have read how hard hit your country has been. I will be thinking about you and yours and pray stay safe.

For the Mask; Ideally, cotton with a fairly tight weave or thread count. I did some research and used pillow cases washed and put in a hot dryer, is the most protective. This was from a scientific research paper. However sheets that are cotton poly can be used.

The Nursing home here is out of mask in three days, for one hundred patients and one hundred plus employees.
Here is what I am ordering or have. Pipecleaners used for crafts, cheap at amazon here. it is to insert into the top of the mask that is double material. it is to mold the mask over the nose and the cheeks.

Can be made with elastic to fit over the ears. or ties long enough to tie over ears behind head and bottom tie equal length. It is possible to leave an opening to insert a filter, even a paper towel. If you want the pattern I have research from my previous nursing experience and the friend sewing them, I will send it to you.
