I grow them indoors, mainly keeping the smaller size (tropical type) Mexican varieties. I don't know about "they are indoors only"... they grow outdoors down 'Mexico way' in their natural habitat. There are definitely quite a few non-tropical "temperate" pings (many are found in Asia, Europe & North America). Maybe someone on the forum (who grows the temperate types and/or grows these outdoors) will chime in with some good information.
