i was born in Miami and moved to coral springs.....31 miles north lol.

i have been to 39 states in the US and 13 countries not including the one i live in.

my lineage is from the north east of the united states, steel country of PA and MA for two generations... Polish, Russian and Czech before that.

Both of my grandfathers were in WWII one as a medic in Europe one swimming of aircraft carriers to rescue downed pilots in Pearl Harbor

i have a lineage of doctors, carpet store owners, masons and farmers.

my upbringing was family is the most important thing, then being a decent human being to all the rest of the planet, then love nature, education is important but nurturing your curiosity was more important.

i am trying to raise my daughter the same way

I have basically WASP ancestry with some German and a little native American thrown in. My mothers family goes back to before the revolutionary war and was basically English and Welsh and she grew up in the mid West. My fathers father was all German and my grandmother was adopted so we don't know much about her ancestry. I have a sister who is an avid genealogist and thinks my PGM was probably English or Scottish. So mostly British isles and German here. I speak Swedish and Spanish, learned by living in the relevant countries.

Born in Calcutta, India. Why? Guess I was lucky, as My Dear Old Mum was there at the time...
Anyway, Dear Old Dad was an Indian Army officer who was at Singapore when the japs captured it. Never saw my DOD until after the end of WWII, when I was 5.
DOM wanted to go back to Dear Old England while DOD wanted to go to Australia (something to do with the Aussie mentality in POW camps)
So, we ended up in England...At age 22 I applied to go to Australia. May the Lord be praised that I had just one great idea.
Moved over most of Northern Australia, having a fabulous adventure in the 1960s.Worked in road construction in the Kimberlies and Pilbara for 14 years and NSW for 21 years
Retired and chose to live near Mackay, Queensland and just go fishing and tend my garden for the last 21 years...And, loving it!
(Apologies to Maxwell Smart)

My passion, fishing and camping in remote areas.
My home.

Cheers, Bobj.
