I'm still fighting the whiteflies on the blueberries Spraying once a week, but I still find one or two leaves infested with them weekly.
Early October I planted a bunch of radishes, peas, kholrabi, and carrots into the ground for a winter harvest. I guess it just doesn't get enough sun (3-4 hours), so they've barely grown. However, near the end of October and part-way into November, I also planted a few into larger pots on my balcony along with some lettuces, the area which gets sun almost all day. I harvested my first radishes today! Still took 68 days, I don't know why they won't grow as fast as the advertiszed 28-32 days
Anyone else doing winter harvest?

I haven't paid attention to my home plants due to various reasons. I planted 1 (one) asparagus root earlier this year and it now has two little ferns. This morning I noticed somehow a stray cucumber was growing in the designated asparagus hole. Should I let it grow, pull it out, or try to transplant it?
What are you all doing in 2021 for veggies and fruits this year?

I have a couple of 2-chamber raised beds in the back yard. One contains nothing but tomatoes - San Marzano and another plum type, several cherry/grape types (they seem to do best here) and a Cherokee Purple. The other has German Johnsons and several basil plants, dill, chives, thyme and parsley. I have a jalapeńo pepper in it's own 2-gallon pot.
I treated everything with KelpMax and Quantum at planting, with Osmocote mixed in the soil.
The tomatoes are fruiting like mad. Probably get our first cherries and Cherokee Purple in a week or two.

My blueberries are loaded this year. They probably appreciated the cold winter some months ago. Trying strawberries for the first time, the berries are coming quickly.... But sadly small. Is it normal for them be to so little the first year?
Other than that, trying out some black sea man tomatoes. Going for cucumbers, bell peppers, poblano, jalapeno, chocolate Carolina reapers, and a range of herbs (mint will take over my yard if I don't watch it). Oh, also just got some cantaloupe in the ground too.
Thanks for the reminder about kelpmax, Ray. I need to go put some on the spicy peppers and the cantaloupe

I'm jealous of all of you who already have fruits/veggies nearing harvest! The growing season in the Netherlands is short, and this year it is even more so thanks to the unseasonally cool and rainy weather in April and May.
I usually plant my tomatoes mid May, but this year not only have I not planted them, I've also had to keep them indoors! The flowers, zucchini and various squash that I sowed mid april on my balcony barely grew at all. On the plus side, it's been a good year for spinach, I have about 8 lbs cooked and stored in the freezer.

2021 Veggie garden...
Tomatoes: Purple Cherokee, Mortgage Lifter, Chocolate Cherry, Everglade a/k/a currant, San Marzano, and a new hybrid I can't remember name of.
Cucumbers: Japanese, English and Straight Eight
Spaghetti squash
Sweet Corn Peaches & Cream (four very short rows)
Strawberries (thinned out this year)
Asparagus (planted two more plots, 30 crowns total)
Chives
Garlic
Onion
Lettuce: Romane and Buttercrisp
Peas: English, Snap & Pod
Sweet Peppers Carnival snacking peppers
Grapes Just planted two new vines "Mars" and "Venus"
Jerusalem Artichoke (started another bed)
Not growing in 2021:
Green beans. A first in probably forty years. Still have a ridiculous amount from last year... decided to take a break.
Peaches. I cut down three trees this year. Just not the right place for them here, plus high maintenance to get good peaches. I'm just over it.
Sweet cherries. Last tree died. Not replanting.
Blueberries. Lost all bushes from our bitter cold weather in February. Not gonna start again.
Blackberries and Raspberries Getting to be too much work to prune as needed.
*Leaf Lettuce for human consumption. I planted a ton of it, but just to feed the chickens. After sixty years I'm tired of looking lettuce...taking a break.
*Zucchini... Growing a ton of it. Probably eat a few here and there. I don't like frozen zucchini. Grow a ton for the chickens and horses. Weird horses... don't like apple, but loves those zucchini slices and of course strawberries.

Had my first own grown Guava today (known as Guayaba here). Really pleased with it! I actually planted it in a friend's garden that I look after (Holiday home) not knowing what it was, I'd been given it as an 'evergreen shrub'!
I'm on the lookout now for one for my own garden!

I love fresh guava! Had a tree in the yard when I lived in PR. Slow growing, but definitely not a "shrub."

Went out blueberry picking in my back yard this evening. Here's the take! Almost 2 quarts from one bush!
