Sadly, the lady bugs were about a week late, the aphids covering the radish stems disappeared. Maybe other ladybugs ate them up that I didn't see.
Last of the tomato and cucumber harvest, first of my beets and spicy calabrian chilies. I pulled the beets early in order to enjoy their greens for dinner tonight (one of my favorite leaves). |

delicious!
maybe build a few bug houses/ bug hotels....they let wood bees and ladybugs and others have homes right in the garden so they are there earlier in the season (that's the idea, at least)

Garlic harvested earlier in year, now ready to prep and freeze. Already planted next year's crop. Here's one of the three bowls I'm getting ready to start peeling...
Guaranteed to drive everyone out of the house when I start up the food processor.  |

My habanadas are finally beginning to ripe! Such a strange pepper: the aroma while biting into them triggers the "prepare for pain" sensation, but then there's no heat. The little ones are sugar sweet, too. Far more successful with these than tomatoes. Dozens more on the way! Now to figure out how best to eat them.

Yup! Hence the clever name.. haba-nada. No heat  It's the weirdest thing! The larger ones taste like green peppers. The small ones are my favorite. Feels like they took forever to mature, but timeline-wise, I simply started them way too late. |

Stir fry with onions and green tomato, chicken. Eat over rice with tamari.

Freezing in ice cube trays after chopping with tiny bit of olive oil. Same as with basil and oregano. Pop out of ice cube trays once frozen and put in ziplock baggies. |
