Well. My saddest spring experience: I mulched my American West Ornipets with about 4-6" of leaf mold. I patted myself on the back for getting it done early. Then we had yet another cold snap and I discovered the voles had eaten most of the stalks down to the ground as they came up. They look like corn cobs sticking out of the ground!
But, these cheer me up. Virginia Blue Bells, even better this year.
