Gotta watch those thorns, though... best to let somebody else trim those vines. Beautiful, but they bite...

My husband's mom lives in SanFran area. She has three different bouganvilla crawling over a tool/potting shed in her back yard. I visited and sat outside three times before I saw her open a door, and realized there was a shed there.
When I lived in Puerto Rico, the bouganvilla were everywhere...climbing houses, fences. Paradise. What was truly amazing to me at that time (I was 19) was that folks had poinsettias as privacy hedges. Had no idea it would ever get bigger than those little guys they sell at Christmas. |
I love tulips. I planted some this fall, but I was a litle late planting, and I didn't amend the clay soil before I did it, so they did poorly for me this year. It seems their first year is always the best, so I tend to grow them as annuals. I plant a ton of them, upwards of 200 every year, and then i cut most of them and bring them inside the house to enjoy them, but then I typically pull the bulbs to make room for my spring plantings, because like I said, they're never as good the second year as they are the first year. I love having big boquets of tulips all over the house.

It's your climate. They need friable soil and a good, deep, chill.
We have literally thousands of fancy daffodils. Every year for a few years we planted 500-1,000. I'll try to take a picture today. I live to cut them and give them away. Sadly, we're on lockdown. |

The hibiscus is beautiful, one of my favorites, nice one DC.
Not sure what the little bunching ones are called, but they are part of an annual flowering mix to bring in the pollinators (not working?!), and they are super tiny (half a penny?). I also planted some sweetpeas on the request of a friend, and now quite enjoy them with such a pleasant fragrance! I would like to find some butterfly pea seeds next! |

That pink flower looks like Oxalis but, I can't see the foliage. Here's a portion of my view.

Wow, very picturesque view!
It's one of these: 'Early Blooming Beekeeper's Mix' Pollinator Flowers | Renee's Garden I made the mistake of putting half the seed packet into a 1x2 window box and the roots are probably going to suffocate each other soon. I'm learning :dumb: |
i want to roll down that hill

Down is easy. Up is harder. The whole property falls away from the house/road.
