As a 16 year old I bought a leftover '77 RM250 new in '78. I rode the hell out of that bike, to the point where I completely rebuilt the motor twice, and just the top end a couple more times. I'm generally disposed towards the activity, but since moving to an area where it's popular to the point of people coming from out of state to ride here, my opinion is changing. This area is dotted with temporary pools that don't harbor fish and are critical to many species of amphibians, some of which are threatened species. With the way the weather is running, marble and spotted salamanders, both protected species will be moving in to spawn in the next week or so. A week or two later the wood frogs will move in, followed shortly thereafter by spring peepers, eastern newts, toads, and the state endangered northern cricket frog. I'm not one to mince words, and can think of no more accurate way to put it than to say off roaders shit all over this area. Empty oil and antifreeze containers. Discarded tires and other parts. Soda and beer bottles, food containers, etc. It's an obscenity.
