iPhone access via Tapatalk
Hi guys! Does anyone else access OB from their phone via an app called Tapatalk??
Mines been working fine up until yesterday, but now I can only view OB as a guest thru this mode of entry, OB no longer accepts my login details... but logins in fine thru my laptop or safari, so it's not a universal prob with my login just a Tapatalk issue.
I use my phone to access OB wherever I go, maybe 30+ times a day... I'm having OB withdrawal symptoms I may be forced to buy a new orchid or 2 to fill the emptiness inside!!

Tapatalk has to be enabled at the website server end for it to work correctly.
I know Marty enabled this a long time ago, however the board is currently running on reduced functionality due to some problems Marty is having. See this link.

I'm wondering if this is one of the things he's had to temporarily disable.

Might be thats the issue then Rosie...hopefully it will come back soon cos it's driving me nuts without it I'm constantly zooming in and out of screens to read txt or change pages... plus popups saying OB is iPhone native.
I definitely have 2addictions now, orchids and OB, and it seems the latter is currently getting the better of mei was gutted when I couldn't read OB in bed last night

I had the same issue at the same time as you. I was at work and needed to decompress for a moment only to find out I could not access it. I saw that Marty had posted a new message in the link Rosie gave, so I figured it was related.
As for the decompressing at work, I just stared out the window for a bit and wished my window at work was filled with blooming orchids, lol...

Same here. I couldn't log in to post a pic of my very first spike. I already did my "first spike" dance and really wanted to share with the world. Not sure how to do that with iPhone through the normal web. I guess I need to wait till I have access to my computer.

Thanks for the post Kim. I'm going through the same withdrawl... it's hard not being able to pop onto the OB while waiting in line, or in the elevator, while walking the dog, etc.
To the admins - any idea when taptalk logins might be reinstated?
Thanks!
- J

I still can't use Tapatalk. When I try to log in I get a message "your administrator has restricted access via Tapatalk". Any ideas? It's been this way for about a month.

I'm still having the same trouble too it's been ages I was hoping it would be sorted by now but the weeks are slowly ticking by. I only bought the app as it was supported by OB. It definately makes the forum more easy to negotiate than iPhone alone. I've almost given up trying access the site on the go, plus a home I generally use my phone as my daughter uses the laptop for her homework etc. So if I've missed or haven't replied to anyones questions my apologies!

I think Marty needs to run stuff for a while on a minimised set-up and it looks like this is one of the things suffering.
The only way for him to see what is causing a vulnerability to hackers is to remove the suspect options and see over a period of time if that has solved the problem. If it has then he can start adding the features back one at a time, leaving it for a while between each one, to see which one seems to cause the problem to start again.
This is a standard diagnosis technique in IT, but can take some time especially if the thing you are looking for does not happen all the time anyway.
It is a pain, but these types of problems need hunting out

Thanks, Rosie, for the explanation. At least I know now that it is on purpose, and not just an issue that hasn't been addressed.
