The subject matter I have in mind ... basically a list of common terms/abbrvs with their defs ... indeed would not work as a cut and paste with excel (did give it a try before I started the thread).

You may be able to use BB code for primitive tables of no more than 3 columns. Look to the bottom left of this page and click BB Code. Do some reading.
