Compatibility update
We updated to the latest stable patched release that should be compatible with the database software on the server.
There are few version of forum software above ours, however it's been developed after the software company was sold to some advertising company. The latest versions are considered inferior by many to what we are running and are not necessarily better. This sparked massive exodus of the client base, development of a new forum by key programmers and a lawsuit.
We could jump one level before any major changes happened, but that would mean that our heavy customized board would need to drastically change and would be much more canned solution. Many of the customization would simply go away and other then spending few thousand dollars and a ton of time to do this we would probably end up with a crappier board. When the software sale was happening I even spent bunch of money to create a custom skin to dress up the new version of the software but decided against it as it would not make us better.
Lately we got a bit out of sync that's why the forum timeouts were happening. In addition we have 90% of our storage space filled which makes it difficult for any operations and caching during peak usage contributing to the timeouts. I've purchased some extra space to tie us over and will try to clean up a bit of the space on the server, but I hate doing stuff like that as that will create threads with pics that are no longer there.
there may still be some stuff messing up after the update, please let me know. I saw some icons missing and graphics not aligned. If you see some strange behaviors please post in this thread.

Thank you so much for your work and for keeping it open.
Icons for some actions are missing. The "like" feature in the lower left below messages is not there. Maybe plugins haven't been updated yet?
How many people total would need to subscribe to bring in enough money to justify buying more space? How close are we to that mark?

Thank you, Marty, for spending your time upgrading. Once again, if we can be of any help, please let us know.

So far that's the only thing I've noticed. Most, if not all of the icons are missing (including the text editing icons, in the quick reply as well the advanced message box).

The icons are fixed.
The listing of threads inside an individual forum is fixed. The only difference is that there used to be a demarcation between sticky threads and other threads; now they are all in the same area.
There is no Like button at the bottom left of messages. The Edit, Quote, Multi-quote and Reply buttons at the bottom right of each corner are there.

In the past I only used Edit and Quote. Those two seem the same to me. I didn't pay attention to anything else there in the lower right, and I don't have any screen captures of the old OB.
