Classifieds
Looks like our classified system isn't overly used and may be overly complicated and confusing IMO. There's another system that is much better integrated into the forum and with every ad posted a thread is created giving more exposure to the ads. I'm very surprised to see that classifieds aren't used that much, very curious why! Are OB members hogs and don't want to sell anything ??? I'd be very curuious to hear your ropinions

I personally don't have anything I care to sell. When searching for something to buy, I have my pet sources

Probably has a lot to do with the lack of sellers. OB members don't know about the quality of people we have here so are probably unwilling to buy. With a small buyer population, the sellers are not encouraged to put items up for sale.
Marty, perhaps if we held a special sellers event on OB. Something like a virtual Orchid Show. Were we would contact members and tell them that they should all sell whatever it is they want to sell on a specific date, and then advertise it to all the members so everyone knows to come and checkout the market. After that, hopefully sellers will have a good reputation, OB will have a good reputation for hosting good sellers, and buyers will know to check OB on a regular basis to look for new stuff thereby encouraging new sellers to post items.
Lets have an orchid board Flea Market day

I love the flea market idea!
I don't buy anything because it's too cold and frankly, I spend most of my time looking at posts. That occupies alot of my time.
I don't sell anything because I don't know anything about packaging orchids. I consider myself a newbie still.
Speaking of flea market, here is another idea that makes money and perhaps OB could do something similar....I know someone who had this huge yellow slipper plant (can't remember the exact name) that was about 12 years old. He decided to raffle off his plant and sent out emails with his slipper pictures to everyone on his list and gave a month's time to send in raffle money ($5 each ticket) before the name was drawn on a designated day. He made quite a bit of money!
Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

It might also be helpful for us novices to be able have an online packing workshop. Those who are more experienced could walk us through the process. I've got plants I'm going to divide in the spring, and I certainly don't want more than one taking up growing space! Maybe we could call it "Spring Cleaning Sale".

I love this idea of a sale! I am one of the "hogs" that won't part with any of my chids. But I would love to buy some of the things I have seen on OB. The variety offered could be awsome!

Hi Marty,
I've always been on the receiving end of ordered plants. I for sure would like to have suggestions 'if' I ever part with some of my chids. They are still young but a section with tips for shipping would be helpful. That's my
