Thanks, this is all valuable input. I still have a bunch of calendars left and will do my best to come up with a cheap shipping alternative for the rest of the world. There's no use of me keeping the calendars and I'd rather push them out, then recycle them later in the year Yes shipping to within North America is much cheaper then shipping to other continents - it's just the nature of the beast. The mistake this year was the I made the calendars too big and too heavy and that skipped the cheaper shipping options. Live and learn. This year we will do calendar much earlier so we can get them printed in time and still allow cheap surface shipping to far away places. I also want to get some really nice things made up for all to enjoy

I probably won't be able to buy anything due to the shipping costs (unless there's a way to deal with that), but I agree on the calendar, poster thingy.
A suggestion for the calendar so it will be something to keep even when it's not valid anymore (expect the beautiful pictures I assume are in it) - write facts about the orchids portrayed in the photos, such as, genus, species, origin, etc, maybe also a "tip of the month" on how to care for orchids and so on. I have no idea if this is doable but I know that I would definitely keep such a calendar (I probably would anyway since I'm a sucker for beautiful photographs).
I would love to have a mug with my favourite Phal equestris on it btw. I'm a tea addict and love tea mugs for some strange reason, the bigger the better. I've gotten the comment "Oh, drinking out of a bucket, are you?" when drinking tea at work using a mug from home.

You should be able to stick your own pictures on things through sites like cafépress (and maybe zazzle?).
The calendar currently lists the name of the orchid and photographer; you could quite easily trim the spiral bound part off and put it on the wall as a picture when the year is over.

The postage for the calendar was no picnic here in the states either !
I'm a hat & T-shirt addict and those are products that don't come with a date stamp !!! I'm going to suggest the hats to our OS, we already did the T-shirt.

I like the T-shirt idea, preferably with a drawing? They don't expire the way calendars do.
There is such a thing as a perpetual calendar but I don't know who offers them.

The Dutch are really big on such calendars, they are used exclusively to keep track of birthdays. And for some reason the usual spot for such a calendar is hanging on the wall opposite to the toilet!
I would love to have an orchid calendar to admire while taking care of 'business', and I'd sure be spending a lot of time in that room!

So, votes on appropriate orchids for that location? Some kind of stinky bulbo?

Bulbo beccarii! My fragrant orchids book says that it smells like "a 100 dead elephants rotting in the sun"
In any case, if such a calendar (minus the stinkers) were offered by OB, I'd buy one for sure!
