Default so you want to know who did it

well yup it was me here is the post i made

on another site we are doing a calandar for next year and the top 13 in votes get chosen as the top one gets the cover. normally i would not care but they have banned me from using anything from this site on thiers and i dont think that it is right. they think that if you are into tractors then you are just some kind of dumb ole redneck or something. so to get back at them i am asking if you would vote for my picture thanks dennis here is the link. my picture is number 5

as it clearly states i did not and do not care about the calandar. why did i do it because everytime i made a comment about the tractor site it took some ribbing about it. and the other nite a comment was made to me in the chat room regarding my knowledge of orchids by a moderator to another member. now before you go and question my knowledge of orchids and botany you might want to do some checking my families history dealing with it goes well over one hundred years i think that is a little more than yours. it is in my opinion that this site has become a popularity forum more than a educational one that is supposed to help people not make them look stupid in front of other members. if you have a problem with any knowledge i have given here confront me with a pm or email and i will more than glad to back it up. when i see a new member post a picture of thier one and only bloom it is amazing to see it get posted over by look at what i got today. you know some of us here get tired of it and do not care. did you ever stop to think that some members here are on disability and a fixed income and can not afford to buy 6 or 8 a week and it is like rubbing salt in there wound. now before you start bashing me maybe you should jump down off of your high horse and take a look in the mirror. now before i made my post on the other site i read the rules of the contest and no where did it state that your friends could not vote or it was a member only vote that counted so i did not break or cheat in any way, and like i said i did not care one bit about wether i win or not. it was amazing that one little post on a tractor site could yeild well over 400 hits on it and before you bash them some of them joined before they voted so they are members here now and wont take kindly to it. i really have no intention of leaving right now as like i said i technically did not break a single rule.

Dennis, it was cheating because you told people what to vote for, not because you invited your friends to come and vote.
Also your knowledge of orchids and botany in general has a golden reputation on this board, which is why it was a shock to me to say that Orchid Board thinks you are nothing but a hick. I found that insulting to us as Orchid Board prides itself in being composed of a varied community. You tarnished the reputation of all the good fair minded people on OB because one person may have insulted you(I can't say for sure because I was not there) and that angers me even more than the cheating.
For these reasons, until further decisions are made by the higher ups, you get a red card from me.

Here I am, Dennis.

As far as I know, YOU are the only one that ever talks about your tractor or named yourself the hick in the sticks.

As for what was said in the chat room, I explained why I wanted to focus that person on just one person's views and I'm sorry that I didn't pick you but that's just the way it is. I didn't say anything against your knowledge, I just didn't direct them to you for information. Sorry if your ego was bruised.

I also asked you if you were offended and you said weren't and you also spent the next few weeks talking like we were still friends.

What you wrote on the tractor site was a blatant lie, nobody here at OB has ever suggested that anybody who rides a tractor is a redneck or ignorant.
Your words:
they think that if you are into tractors then you are just some kind of dumb ole redneck or something. so to get back at them i am asking if you would vote for my picture

and some more:
well i guess they found out about it and deleted all my votes from here but i still think it is funny that they thought that a place like this was dumb. now they see the power of a great forum that does not try to exist as a popularity contest. thanks for all the help guys it was worth it

You're just making it up as you go along!

Dennis, It felt really insulting when you were unjustly putting down OB on your other forum, while still being active here. You've made things up about having tractor content banned here... then as a form of 'punishment' you ask members of the other forum to vote for your photo. If you say you didn't care about the contest, you shouldn't have entered it. I've worked hard to make OB a friendly place free of insults and BS. I've hand picked mods that shared my ideas. If you had a problem with one of the mods, you should have complained to me, instead of resorting to the crooked antics and voodoo vigilante tactics.

I was very tempted to ban you, but Tindo's infraction is well deserved and will do for now.

I don't want to dwell on this, so be good and let's move on, there's little benefit from this, just things to learn for the future.

I don't understand .. Dennis .. you continually say you don't care .. but you maliciously wanted to 'get back at' others? I find that to be quite belligerent and I think you care an awful lot. I think you feel insulted and degraded and hurt. If you didn't, you wouldn't have expedited so much time and energy in something so negative and inconsiderate to others. If you feel someone is insulting you, why not do what you suggest to others and deal with them in a PM or email. Taking it out on everyone on the board is just not fair or right.
As far as the terms 'redneck' and 'hick', the only one I have ever read referring to you as such is you. I have never understood the perception of low regard you have for yourself. I have never seen anyone on this board refer to you by the above terms. I have not been in the chat room lately but from every other aspect, you are respected here for your experience and knowledge more than you realize.

I made my entry before Sue's and Marty's was posted and I read theirs after my came up despite my later posting time. I didn't mean to be repetitious.
I agree ... let's move on to better things -
Woohoo I can't wait to see the final results of the calendar!
A few more days to go until the poll closes!
