Default Dealing with Spammers - FYI

We haven't had spammers on board for a while. Most of the automated spamming techniques that they use these days currently don't work too well on our version of software, nevertheless, there's nothing we can do when a human spammer comes in and makes a garbage post.

Fortunately we have the infraction system. ScottMcC spotted a junk/spam post and gave the user posting it a Spam infraction, which automatically bans the user and prevents them from posting again. When that happens, a post is automatically made in the moderator (private) forum and mods are alerted about the junk.

Great job Scott ! Thanks.

Me too. Combo of great software, great mods (and admin ) and observant members keep this place pretty enjoyable. Way to go.

Agreed, thanks for the help Scott. Between all of us, we only got 5 mice to click these spammers away. Theres bound to be one that gets away....for a short time.
