From what I have gathered I think the simple fact is that the server is not up to the high levels of traffic we get these days. Especially (but not limited to) when the scripts are running at certian times of day.
But I don't think Marty can afford to upgrade anything, so while he has tried to make sure the scripts are at the quietest time of day he's not really able to do much else.

I just opened this post and clicked on "view first unread" - hey presto blank screen!!! 16:23 GMT.
I went back and used the page finder to go to the last page - no problems

I'm still tweaking things...I didn't leave the issue. It may also be related to a version of vBulletin software. New fix is going in tonight to see if this will go away
It may be like the stuck accelerator pedal in Toyota ... few things have to happen in order for the forum to blank out  |

Thanks Marty, I got LOADS this morning, but that was before your message so I'm going to keep an eye on it tommorow morning (UK mornings seemed to be the worst time for me).
I'm interested you mention the vBulletin software and an update for it. From my perception the problem started arround the time the 'Bookmarks' option were added for facebook etc. Did that coincide with a vBulletin update?
