OK, the Orchid Care Sheet section is ready to be populated. Anyone wants to give it a go?

It's still a bit buggy, but it should work.

I know some of you wanted to have Care Sheets for species and some for genera. I think it will be great if we'd have it for both. Over time I hope that we will build a great resource for others.

You'll notice a new section under "Add Content" on the left Write Care Sheet

Who's first? If you've grown a specific orchid and you're very successful at it and you feel that you know what you're doing, write a detailed care sheet for others to learn.

C'mon lets put this baby into production

and lets discuss some care sheets in the forum

also, let's uncover some more bugs

(yes, I know about the empty img placeholders

working on it)

I'll start ....with Phalaenopsis. When we start a culture sheet do we have to complete it all at once, or can we come back and work on it in stages?

You can come and edit it, but it will be posted unfinished for all to see. I'm looking forward to it Dave.

Also, see if you can do a specie specific one too.... I know Tindo has great luck with his odorata, maybe we can coax him into making one

Marty, I tried (really hard) to use your template and I never could get it to work. I really think this has gotten so complicated that the average user will quit before ever getting anything posted. Here are my comments:

1) I should be able to just go to my gallery and select a photo and either paste the thumnail or the larger photo. I shouldn't have to upload anything.

2) When I fill in the Genus and species and the link to photo and click on upload I get error stating I must enter the Genus and species. Duh!

At this point I bailed. Sorry, the idea is good but the execution is overly complicated (in my mind) - maybe I'm just slow, but this should work like submitting an article.

C'mon Ross, don't bail out on me now

I know you can do it! Start from the very top and work down, the top 2 fields are required. I changed the labels, it will be easier for you.

I don't want to do the gallery link becuase everyone always formats their photos in a different way. If you upload a photo directly from your computer, after the upload everything will be formatted properly. If you need to, save the photo to your computer first, then upload it.

Give it another go, I know you can do it

Marty, I just spent over 2 hours setting up a culture sheet and finally submitted it and got a "validation error, please submit again" I tried several times. I'm not really a patient person and hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I doubt I'll try again.
