Traffic woes - Orchid Board

Damn, OB got suspended. Apparantly OrchidBoard and VivariumTopSites are causing a strain on the database server. Next step is a dedicated host ... YIKES !!!

not sure what I'm goind to do yet

Yes we're growing faster then ever before, which is great (almost 200 new members in Feb !!!) I also noticed that we had a turkish spammer on vivarium topsites that was stealing some traffic and slowing things down. He's disabled now, so hopefully things will improve a little and we can last a bit longer on the shared host

Ohhh Phewww! I thought it was all my fault for trying to beat peoples high scores in the arcade!

Next thing I know "this account has been suspended"

I have found a potential problem. Every now and then, especially when i take some time writing a reply to someone I amkicked out and have to log in again to post my reply. This meen that I automatically take traffic that I should not need to take.
It even happens sometimes when I just reed post.....
Is this a bug or something else?

Magnus, you have to have cookies enabled. Login info is kept inside a cookie. If you log in and have cookies disabled you will be logged out after the session will expire.

That wouldn't take too much traffic, we had a turkish site that was showing a piece of graphic from our server, several thousand times per hr

Also, If Zone Alarm is running, one must set it up to accept this web site. That was my problem.
