Mine came in yesterday's mail. I installed it this morning and am awaiting my activation code from Alex. The journaling feature looks like it will be way coolio! After I get everything entered it should save a lot of time and head scratching trying to remember what happened when.

Me it's the opposite. I got the activation code in the email Alex sent telling that the CDs were going in the mail. But being overseas, I have to wait an entire week an least to get it!

I called Alex and got my code. The journal is exhausting I first had to make a list of the plants (I pitty Sue with her gigantical collection - or Dave, for that matter) Finding a few of the Neo's took some work, then I figured out I could just add Neofinetia falcata then add the variety on the "my plant" page. Not much else is getting done today

Camille, that code is step 1. You'll still still have to e-mail the code generated during setup to get the actual activation code (or call).

Alex emailed me right back with the activation code. I started working on the journal. LOL I'm kinda glad now my collection is so small! I think my brain would fall out if I had to enter hundreds. It's going to be totally cool though! The ability to add your own pictures is awesome too.

Hey Ross, we gotta talk to Alex about the fertilizer piece. I'd like to be able to add 125 ppm MSU.

My biggest objection for useing it is I like to alphabetize. That is VERY important to me. I don't like the idea of only mumbers. I can't imagine searching through 300 numbers trying to find what I want. I would also like to have more than 1 journal, 1 for slippers, 1 for vandacious, 1 for oncid ..........and listed in alphabetical order. I would like to search my slippers and, such as, look if I have a particular plant.. I would like a sort feature.

I may play with it more to see if it is usable for me, but at this point the options are not what I prefer for my records. It has many features which I like but it needs more.

Don't forget that this is version 1 of the journal. I'm sure that if you email Alex your ideas, he might consider those improvements in a later upgrade. I just can't wait to get started with mine, I'll be watching the mail anxiously for the next week!

I am making a list of the features which I would like to be able to do.

How to make more than 1 journal.
How to print 'all plants' or 'all journal' list.

It may be that I just haven't found the method to do it within the program. I'm still playing with it before I transfer 350 plants into the program.

I only just got the update installed after not feeling well for a few days and have not really had the chance to play around much yet...but I did notice two things right away:

I just LOVE the idea that all we have to do is look up the plant we have and click on a button to add it to the journal. I've spent months thinking I was going to have a huge data entry job ahead of me and I am very happy to find I was wrong...this time

Second thing I noticed I'm not so thrilled about. I'm not sure if I'm missing something or the program actually doesn't have a way to enter unregistered hybrids or NOIDS. I think there should be a way for us to enter our Miscellaneous plants. I emailed Alex with my question.

Still have lots of searching and clicking to do but I'm excited about it

Even with adding a plant with the my plant button there is still a fair amount of data entry to do if you choose Sue. I'm one of those weird people who has tried to keep all my receipts for orchids, so I input the vendor I purchased from, the date, and the cost. That actually took the most time. Choosing colors was a bit time consuming as well. I had a hard time with things like what's the difference between burgundy and maroon. I also was at a loss as to what to do with my NOIDS. I also have some unregistered crosses as well.

I finished inputting my plants this morning at 1:30 AM. I haven't even started the jounal portion yet.
