Well, now I've read all this (and thanks Sue for redirecting me) I'd like to have my
.
I have enjoyed very much being in the Succulent and Cacti Social group, and this explains why no one has answered my last few posts in that - you've all been too busy discussing its death
I hope very much that it will continue as a new forum in the Off Topic group.
I also joined one other, but I agree it is duplicating to discuss orchids in a sub set which is not available to all viewers. Which ties in with my third thought about newbies asking the same questions repeatedly - well, we were all newbies once.
When I first posted on this board I had never had a conversation with anyone over the net except by e mail with people I already knew and you guys were so welcoming I never felt stupid, just curious. As for doing research, don't you think that the younger people are not so keen on looking in books or fact sheets? The other problem I have with my orchid books is that some of them have been picked up second hand and are very old - sometimes information is either ambiguous, conflicting or just plain wrong - products available change, methods change etc.
That's my thoughts, glad to be able to share and hope that Marty will keep Cacti and Succulents going for us.
Thanks
Heather
