Thumbs up Specific species photo request

We have received a request for photos of certain species orchids. If you have any of these photos and are willing to share them with the world, be sure to ask for credit to you as plant owner and/or photographer...and a credit to Orchidboard as a source

Hi there,

I work for WWF's Heart of Borneo programme. In order to highlight the uniqueness of the biodiversity and habitats found in the Heart of Borneo, we are producing a new report on new species discoveries from this
extraordinary region over the last year 2008.

I understand there's been a number of new speices of orchid from Borneo in 2008, including:

Appendicula clemensiorum
Appendicula tembuyukenensis
Ascidieria maculiflora
Bulbophyllum aschemon
Bulbophyllum belliae
Bulbophyllum cyrtognomom
Bulbophyllum emunitum
Bulbophyllum haematostictum
Bulbophyllum leptoglossum
Bulbophyllum retrorsum
Bulbophyllum rutilans
Bulbophyllum simii
Chelonistele senagangensis
Cleisocentron gokusingii
Dendrobium deflexilobum
Dendrobium devogelii
Dendrobium hirsutifolium
Dendrobium imitator
Dendrobium jamirusii
Dendrobium jiewhoei
Dendrobium lohokii
Dendrobium lumakuense
Dendrobium montis-hosei
Dendrobium muluense
Dendrobium roseocalcar
Dendrobium sabahense
Dendrobium serena-alexianum
Dendrobium strongyloflorum
Dendrobium tetrabrachium
Dendrobium toppiorum
Jejewoodia crockerensis
Liparis trifoliata
Mycaranthes depauperata
Sarcoglyphis masiusii
Thrixspermum erythrolomum
Trichoglottis sitihasmahae

I'm finding it really difficult to find photos of any of these new species, which is a shame because I'm sure they would really bring our publication to life.

We would like very much to include these new species in the forthcoming report and I was wondering whether you might have photos of any of the above species that we could use. You will of course be credited in full.

Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated.

For more information on WWF's Heart of Borneo Initiative , please see the website:
WWF - Heart of Borneo Forests

I look forward to hearing from you,

Best regards
Christian

unfortunately, these are all newly discovered species, and it's unlikely that any of them are in cultivation, or even have photos available. the few growers that have any of them will have wild collected plants.

I doubt there will be anyone with pictures. These plants are so new that I can't even find scientific articles describing them. Too bad these aren't cuban orchids, I know a person who works in the orchid conservatory there and he collects wild orchids, and sometimes discovers new ones.

At least we have some nice new orchids to look forward to growing in the future!!

Sorry, these guys are just too new. Maybe someone around the OB was lucky and is friends with one or more of the people who discovered these orchids.

Camille, your friend has an amazing job! I would love to have that career!
