I trust our members not to abuse this...pretend like it's not even there. By the time anybody sees the blatant spam or a bit of nasty stuff, the mods will most likely have already corrected the problem.

Think of this more as a fail-safe...just in case we Mods miss something

We will still need the mods, the spam post won't delete itself. Just the spammer would be disabled from posting again. Though I must say, we haven't had that many spammers lately. I'm anticipating even less after the upgrade

Certainly we will all be watching

to make sure there are no problems. I'm sure the feature can be switched off if it causes us problems.

I'm sure there won't be any. BTW, any infraction is automatically posted in the MODERATORS forum and mods can reverse infractions. No worries. I just think that this could be valuable tool if anyone misbehaves. Sometimes it might be difficult to ban someone (not that we've done it yet

), but if a person has 8 infractions, and is mouthing off it will be much easier. So far we haven't had any major incidents here at OB and hopefully it will stay that way...in case it doesn't we're ready
