YAY!!!! 8,000 members!!! I've been trying to get some people at work interested in orchids. I think 3 may give it a go. I've even offered to get them started with some mix and pots. And of course I tell them ALL about the OB and what a wonderful place it is for information, terrific people and just a general sense of community! Thanks, to everyone who makes it possible for everyone to ask their questions, show off their pictures and share ideas! I love this site and would totally be lost without it!!!!

It's always good to get more people interested. Just today I met a guy in the lab where I'm doing a research project who is completely into orchids. We are going to try to meet up sometimes and talk orchids, and I betcha he'll be on OB soon too! I too would be completely lost without OB. Logging in has become part of my daily rituals. I'm addicted to the point that I stayed logged in continuously while on the PC, checking for updated threads every 5 minutes. I got it bad!

Camille, you definitely have it bad!! I can't say that I blame you!! Anytime I'm on my computer at home, I'm here! I can't wait to see what has bloomed, maybe be able to answer some questions, check threads that I've started, not to mention see if there are any orchids that I may want, the wish list just keeps on growing! That would be great if your fellow researcher comes here too!! Lab? I wanted to work in a lab, instead I work in the business end of our lab!

I'm not a researcher. Yet I'm just an Msc student, doing a research project as part of my courses. It's on multitrophic interactions between plants, caterpillars and root nematodes. The guy that loves orchids is a PhD student in phytopathology. He uses the labs and grow chambers to flask his seeds. How awesome!

The info may be out there and I might have missed it... but when was Orchid Board founded? I'm guessing some time in 2005 based on Tin's join date? I'm too lazy to go searching for a Marty post!
It's some impressive growth for an online forum, that's for sure. And for being -relatively- young, there is A LOT more than just a forum here.
