I know how you feel camille. I've been drooling over the thought of having as extensive a resource as Orchid Wiz, but I'm in my first year of college. :_( I just can't afford it, and I'd spend so much time looking through it I wouldn't get anything done. :blushing:

I prefer to look at it this way: For now, OB is a much better source of info than any I've ever had before, I get to meet great new people, and in a few years I might be able to afford OW too!

Camille and Greenbean...

Orchidwiz is a luxury item...your education is much more important ;) Nobody should ever buy anything they can't really afford...if it cuts into paying bills and things like tuition, it's not a must-have (and that includes orchids ;) )

You have access to Orchidboard...and me, if you ever need specific information on an orchid, let me know.

Keep up the good work :cheer:

I got my copy in the mail today! Now I just have to wait for my hubby to come home tomorrow and fix the pc....I forgot my user name and password and now I am on administrative lock out. It is his PC from/for work so there is nothing I can do until he gets back.

Mine was waiting for me today when I got home from California! I do think I'll wait until tomorrow to install it though. A 7 hour drive just makes me to stupid to do anything remotely techie. Again a gigantic thank-you to Marty and Alex. This is awesome!

This is fantastic software - highly recommended. Had mine since version 3.0 and it just keeps getting better.
Also consider purchasing the Annual Maintenance Plan, as it give you 4 updates and a new version within the year.

Outstanding work by Alex Maximiano and his crew and also several of our members through their photo submissions for the software.

Our society abandoned Wildcatt in favor of this software due to it ease of use and capabilities.

:violin: Ok now that I'm done crying, don't feel bad gals, three's company. I'm going back to school. It's pretty rough. Now that we know who all has OW, they all,:D will gradly give us helpful recommendations on keeping our collection thriving and healthly.:bowing

cb977 I almost had an orchid attack :faint: when you said restrict orchid purchases. One more Orchid buy won't hurt:evil:

Thanks Marty. I'm a newbie and really need all the help I can get. This sounds like a great deal and a great data base. My husband is buying it for me as early Christmas present. Seems only fair since he is the one that bought me my first orchid and started me on this addiction.

Thanks for all you do!
Karin

Ok, so I'm not alone. That makes me feel a little better. Orchid attack, I can imagine. cb977, you really shouldn't say things like that:bad: . There may be people with delicate constitutions like Chococatte who can't handle the shock. :coverlaugh:

Unfortunately, I've had to become very practiced at controlling my purchases (which is how I only have 7 chids after 3 years of growing them  ) That may change this summer when I help someone rebuild their orchid collection though!!!  :muahaha: (/udb)

Sorry...didn't mean to scare anybody :dunno:
...but paying the bills comes before buying orchids ;)

But we have to think of it this way: If we buy the software, we can't afford more orchids for a looong time. Can you imagine that? No more new orchids? :faint: Actually, I don't want to imagine that! I NEED at least one new (cheap) chid per month or else I start to show orchid withdrawal symptoms! :blushing:
